Volunteer: we need your help

We are always looking for volunteers who are passionate about our cause. If you are committed to preventing childhood sexual abuse and helping sexual abuse survivors, we want your help.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

IN-OFFICE

All volunteers must be able to come to our offices located at 3400 Mayflower Avenue, Suite 500, Lehi, UT 84043. You will also need to pass a background check. We will provide training for you.

Current Opportunities

Office Assistance We often need Office Assistance. These opportunities would include things like filing papers, moving event items from storage back into the office, and other essential tasks.

AT HOME

Do you want to volunteer for Defend Innocence but don’t live locally or can’t come in during our office hours? These projects are for you. You know your community better than anyone. In addition to the opportunities we’ve listed below, if you have ideas for service opportunities in your area, we’d love to hear about them. Email volunteer@defendinnocence.org.

Current Opportunities

Model for a Photoshoot We need individuals and families who are not camera shy and are willing to participate in photoshoots for our creative team. It helps if you are in the Salt Lake area, but we are often travelling and do photoshoots in other locations as well. Please email volunteer@defendinnocence.org. for more information.
UGC Content Collection We often have campaigns and ask our followers to participate using a specific hashtag. We need help collecting all of those images into one location. Please email volunteer@defendinnocence.org. for more information.
Spanish Resources Expansion Tell us ideas for awareness campaigns or blogs we could write for our Spanish community. We also always need help translating content from English to Spanish. Please email volunteer@defendinnocence.org. for more information.
Community Connections We'd love to start a dialogue in your community, and there are lots of ways you can help. Maybe you can connect us with your mayor, city councilor, police chief, or PTA president. Or do you know of a community newsletter or Facebook page where we could spread our message? Email volunteer@defendinnocence.org. to tell us how we can best connect with your community.
Social Audit Help us diversify our content by generating ideas we can implement into our daily social media strategy.
  • Spend an hour looking through our pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Pinterest. (Just choose one.)
  • Look at the videos, pictures, written content, overall feel, and calls to action. What can we improve?
  • Look at the diversity of posts: Do we post too many pictures, or do we have too many direct links to articles?
  • Spend some time thinking of new things that we should be doing. What have you seen and liked that we aren't doing?
  • Make a list of 3 to 5 ideas.
  • Send your ideas to volunteer@defendinnocence.org.
Create a Campaign Help us brainstorm a campaign to raise awareness for our mission. For example, one summer we handed out 10,000 boxes of sidewalk chalk and asked you, “What about childhood is #WorthDefending?” We had responses from all over the world. What creative ideas do you have to get communities everywhere involved? Email them to volunteer@defendinnocence.org.
